From her master’s thesis entitled Délirer l’anatomie, dancer and performer Ana Rita Teodoro has drawn up a “collection” of performative objects, among which Assombro (Wicked Ghost), which focuses on skin, the voice and organs. From these living and immobile tableaux, traditional Portuguese songs emerge, all of which speak of the female condition in order to mock it as much as to express the emancipation of women. What place is left for these songs of the past, threatened with disappearing into the oblivion of archives? In a series of disturbing body haikus, Teodoro summons the voices that haunt us, and invites us to follow them to break the mould again and again.
